Gun Safes?

For legal reasons or to keep it from being stolen?
If I were a thief and saw that safe I would want to know whats in it. Doesnt look that hard to force open.
If its for legal reasons look up that states laws. Some a locked trunk is considered stored, some you have to keep ammo stored separate.
Obviously the best is to have it on you.

I have one of these in each of my vehicles, just in case…
I run the securing cable through the wheel rim of my spare or the battery strap in my trunk. I have no expectation that the firearm won’t be stolen, buy it would certainly be a pain for the thief. And again, when I report it stolen to the cops, I can say it was secured in a gun safe and hopefully avoid any negligence charges. (Yes, my state is a deep blue state.)

Honestly, no thief is going to spend much time trying to break into a safe unless the car is being parked in a dark and exposed area overnight for prolonged accessibility. Most thieves breaking into a car are looking for easy ****** an grabs items. Hence, with your purposes being when parking and going into some place that is gun prohibitive, I think most options will work. A potential thief is not going to be in a “I have all day and privacy” environment to mess with cutting, etc…

Owning a gun involves increased responsibility, at least for me.

LOL LOL LOL...I live in Florida. My locked vechile is MORE than enough protection to keep my rights intact. We are also now an open carry state as our Governor has read the Consitution as well as the Bill of Rights.
But, some years ago there were four cars broken into (my windows were down). Items were stolen from four other cars - one of the items was a gun safe that was pried out of the car. Nothing at all was missing from my car - nada. Plus, I did not have a broken window....BUT, I did have about $5k cash and an $11k watch...well, under the third seat in the back of my wagon......
If your goal is to NOT have something taken, dont put it where criminals will expect it to be. A lock (or a safe) only keeps honest people honest.
We have four of our medical providers are carrying firearms at all times in the clinical environment. Heck, even our public school teachers can now carry a firearm. So, traveling with a weapon and keeping it accessable is very important.

I think being responsible is a good thing.

The idea isn’t that the weapon would be indefinitely secure in the car, just slightly safer from smash and grabs from urban kids who have been raised without repercussions to violating laws. Thanks for the “progress”, progressives.
I appreciate the ideas.
