Does wrapping the star on the grille impair the radar functionality?

Does wrapping the star on the grille impair the radar functionality?
I’ll soon be having my GTR wrapped with PPF; whilst I’m at it – as I’m a fan of debadging – I’d like to have the AMG and GTR lettering on the rear removed and the rear star wrapped in black, and I was wondering if it would be possible to wrap that giant one on the front grille as well, without interfering with the radar’s operation... Does anyone have any experience with this?

ok, bad news than...I’d seen on the tube that some people had wrapped it, but probably they considered having ADAS unnecessary....
As for the rear star, does anyone know if the it available in black from Mercedes, or does it have to be wrapped mandatory?

You may or may not have issues. It can distort the radar signal and MB/AMG explicitly advises not to put anything on it, but some people have wrapped it w/o issues or at least so they said. Same goes for putting PPF on the rear bumper. It can technically mess with the blind spot radar sensors behind the bumper, but I have PPF on my rear bumper and never had an issue. The only issue I had was with my previous Audi RS5. It had a known bug with the blind spot assist turning off when driving in stop&go traffic for a while. There was a software update, but Audi refused to install it on my car because I had PPF on the rear bumper.
I've only had the warning about the radar sensor being obstructed/dirty once. It happened during my European Delivery after blasting through Germany south to north and the front looking like I killed every single bug in the area. It was plastered with dead bugs before it finally complained, so it seems to take a lot before it has an issue.

Thanks to both of you for the valuable feedback. As far as the cost of wrapping the star goes, it's definitely worth a try—worst-case scenario, I'll just take it off.

Newer amg models have a darken out star (dark chrome) or piano gloss, it was part of night package 1 or 2 but unsure compatibility with the C190. Best bet like you said is to just wrap it and see how it goes.
