Hi, was looking for advice and found your forum, so iam new here. I recently serviced my ML gearbox(Liqui Moly Top Tec ATF 1900) and filter. After the service i now have a jolt when shifting from 2-3. The gearbox was smooth before the service. Mercedes dealer checked for fault codes, could not find any. Took it to a specialist who said that i could be glad they did not do a re-set. All the gears are smooth. Only shifting from 2-3 have a jolt with a more positive acceleration. No jolt with a slow pull away. Is it still learning/adapting? I did about 500km already with town and freeway driving. Town driving mostly in S for a1st gear pull away. Can someone help me please?
Level is critical on these. If they didn't check it at 45°C with the engine running, that's likely your problem.
500km is enough time. If it's not better now, it won't "learn" its way out.
Don't reset the adaptations that'll make it worse.
The fix: drain it, refill with correct 236.14 fluid (Shell ATF 134 or Fuchs 4134 not Liqui Moly), set level exactly at 45°C.
Also ask if they drained the torque converter. If not, old fluid is still mixing in. That alone can cause the 2-3 jolt.
