Another noise behind dashboard thread
This sounds like a slowly-clicking Geiger counter. The noise only happens when moving (forward or reverse, slow or fast, smooth or rough road). I mean I can be going 1mph and hear it. Not patterned. Same volume always. Happens when in electric-only mode, or using the motor. Happens with HVAC on or off. Happens when radio on or off. Happens when MBUX screen is turned on or off. Cannot recreate the sound with any pressing, etc on any part of the dashboard or in the glove compartment.
I got under the hood and removed plastic panels, couldn't recreate the sound. Felt tape on these panels, on wire looms, etc. Pulled out cabin air filter and couldn't recreate the sound. Sprayed some silicone in various areas anyways.
Still no change. Of course I'm still under warranty so next step is take it to the dealer - but it is pretty inconvenient for me to do so and I like to DIY if possible. Ideas???

Also please get your dealer involve. I feel that it's really helpful for dealers to report these issues to corporate because of how often, frequent, these similar complaints for almost every side of the car nowadays between numerous users. That will help them to tackle these issues in the upcoming generation.

months so can’t comment on the extremes. But there has not been noticeable difference on hot or cold days.
The way you describe the noise though, it sounds like it's not a physical part to part rubbing but rather some sort of module or actuation noise.
Let us know what you find out. Good luck with the repair.
'fraid you're going to have to take it to the dealer for that one...
