2026 GLE 450 A/C Issues – Anyone Else Experienced This?
I purchased a brand-new GLE 450 on May 1st with only 14 miles on it from a dealership in Illinois. Unfortunately, the A/C was not functioning properly from day one.
I later shipped the vehicle to Florida, where a Mercedes dealership attempted repairs. While the front A/C seems improved, it still intermittently stops working and then comes back on, and the rear A/C still does not appear to be functioning correctly at all.
This is actually my second GLE 450, and I've never experienced anything like this before. I'm honestly surprised to be dealing with a major A/C issue on a vehicle that was brand new.
A few questions for the group:
- Has anyone experienced similar A/C problems on a new GLE 450?
- Was the issue ultimately resolved, and if so, what was the fix?
- Has anyone successfully worked through a manufacturer buyback, replacement vehicle, or dealership exchange without hiring an attorney?
- Any suggestions on the best way to escalate this through Mercedes-Benz corporate?
Appreciate any advice or experiences others can share.
Tell dealer to check rear expansion valve, rear evaporator pressure, and HVAC software update.
If 3+ visits fail, call MBUSA directly, skip the dealer. Open a case, get a regional rep.
Buyback possible without lawyer after 3 attempts document everything. Don't accept topped off gas as a fix.
