A207 Convertible Top Issue - Windows drop, pump runs briefly, but top won't actuate

Hi everyone,

I’m hoping to get some guidance on a soft-top issue with my 2011 E350 (A207).

The top was working fine, but now it refuses to retract. There are no error messages on the dash, and here is what happens when I pull the switch:

The windows drop as expected.
The hydraulic pump engages and runs for approximately 3 seconds.
After those 3 seconds, the pump stops, and the process halts completely.

Current status:

Hydraulic fluid level is steady, right near the "Max" line.
No warning lights or "Top Operation" errors on the instrument cluster.

Has anyone experienced this specific "3-second" cutoff? Is this indicative of a faulty relay, a specific sensor, or is the pump motor itself failing?

I’m considering pulling the pump and sending it to Top Hydraulics for a rebuild, but I want to rule out simpler electrical or sensor-based issues first. Any advice on where to start troubleshooting would be greatly appreciated!
