Excessive Oil Consumption?
Hi folks. I'm driving to Chicago from Seattle and back. So far I have driven 3000 miles (out of 5500 total for the entire trip) and have had to add 2 liters of oil to keep my oil level gage at MAX. This seems excessive to me, and I'm a bit worried about my engine. The engine has 59K miles on it, and on this trip my performance and mileage have been excellent. No blue smoke or anything like that.

I have many miles on our GLS, and we are close to the 60K mark now, with dozens of 4+ hours trips, as well as other longer trips from/to east/west coasts. Never had to add a single drop of oil, even when I drove 10K miles until my next oil change service with several long or state to state highway trips.
