Windscreen wiper extends and retracts at the wrong spots!
Hi Guys,
The windscreen wipers in my 1990 500SL extends and retracts at the wrong positions - ie: gets stuck at one side of the A pillar and sticks out over the top of the roof. The timing seems to be off.
This happened a few months ago and after a few tries, I managed to fix the timing by spraying the internal sliding mechanism with silicon spray and forcefully pushing in the mechanism. However, the problem started again yesterday. I managed to push the mechanism in and fix it - but after driving for a while, it reverted back to the problem.
Can anyone please give me some ideas on a DIY solution? I want to try before I take it to the mechanic.
