if the wire to the release is pulled too the max you might have to go under the seat to release because of over extention, quick fix is too tie some knots in the cable

Just following up to see if this was a fix/helped:

I think I have a similar problem...how do I go about accessing the release cable? I saw another post which indicates 2 torx screws on the rear-bottom of the seat need to be taken off, the panel slid down/out of place. Will this allow me to access the cable, or should I be looking for a connection point under the seat?

Thanks!!

Cable adjustment

I had this problem on the passenger side and it was an easy fix. I believe there is a video posted on U tube but basically just need to remove the side panel on the seat. That gives you access to the adjust cable which is attached to the release lever. A simple adjustment with two wrenches to take up the slack and problem solved.
