SL/R129: Soft top issue
I have never written on this forum (I'm french and my English is too bad} But I have read a lot ... And it helps me a lot.
Today I need a personal assistance.
After changing on my 2000 R129, all hydraulic cylinders, I am faced with a problem of running soft top
Apparently it is a micro switch problem .
Following the procedure indicated in a thread, I tested the connections of the control module RST.
The resulting output is as follows:
cond 1
open: 4; 26; 44; 46
close: 7; 8; 11; 28; 29; 30; 45
cond 2
open: 7; 8; 11; 28; 29; 30; 44; 45
close: 4; 26; 46
If my reasoning is correct, the problem lies in the conection 8 and 44.
What do these two connections?
How to remedy this failure?
The situation is presented in the following way:
The lid opens, the soft top move out and stops at 90 degrees. The pump stops working.
The verification of the position of the front locks, shows that they are open
The rear locks are open too.
Thank you for your help
Jak
In my experience with this problem it was the micro switch having been bent in the re-installation process. For me, it was a physically moving the switch.
Klaus will be in the mix soon. He is my guru and has Top Hydraulics.
But I repair that ...
The body is, at time, straight and the soft top move more than yesterday... Perhaps is the switch dead ?
Ok I Will wait ...

The thread with the details is http://www.benzworld.org/forums/r129...ontroller.html, posts 42-61. The micro switch assembly 1298205510 for the left fabric bow extension cylinder 1298001772 was slightly bent, and yakyank was able to fix it in place with the instructions below. This corresponded to pin 8 in his measurements, but the problem was fairly easily diagnosed by a full description of the top's malfunction. Pin 44 was probably misinterpreted.

More details about the fabric bow extension cylinder micro switch assembly and on how to fix it are in the following thread: http://www.benzworld.org/forums/r129...witch-p-2.html
