Oil additives?
 
I noticed some faint lifter noise on start up last nite. Need to change oil & filter. Car sits a lot - it's driven once or twice a week. Anyway, I'm thinking I may add some Sea Foam or Marvel Mystery Oil with the change. Any favorites or other ideas?

I used a couple of bottles of Techron fuel additive. I think it works better but could be a placebo effect.

Do you put fuel additive in the engine oil? probably not, and I think you misread the problem and proposed solution.

The poster is asking about an oil additive that might be able to cure his lifter tic.

Seafoam is as good as any, our motor pool at work uses Seafoam frequently as both a oil and fuel additive, and the mechanics swear by it.

Hey, some liquid Viagra may help that lifter get it up...

But scott may be on to something with the placebo theory...LOL
