RST Removable Soft Top controller repair

Like a lot of you, my 1995 SL500 driver side window quit dropping 7 mm when opening the door. It would work intermittently and would not stay synchronized. The passenger window worked fine. The micro-switch in the door lock tested fine. I removed the negative battery terminal and then removed the RST controller which is located behind the passenger seat. Luckily my controller is solid state with only 2 relays which control the windows. The new relays are easily found on eBay for $13.99 for 2 plus $3 shipping from China. I unsoldered the 2 relays and reinstalled the 2 new ones and all is well again with the windows. Just make sure you reinstall the RST controller before putting the negative battery back on. Then resync the windows and you are back in business. Here are some photos. The RST costs $2400 from Mercedes and for $16.99 for 2 new relays, I think I saved a few bucks.

Nice save! You could probably make a few bucks fixing them for people not comfortable soldering?
