1991 R129 500SL Rollbar/Top Issue
Hi Folks...I know there aree multiple posts on this topic, but I find myself in a unique situation: Details: 1991 R129 500SL w 68K miles. Had the car painted in April. Top was removed to do the paint. No error codes.
Over last 2 weeks I replaced the fuel regulator and 2 fuel pumps as part of ongoing annual upkeep. Battery was out of car for 1 week. Verified battery is good...875 CC Amps.
On Friday, when a making a corner, the roll bar popped up (not unusual). Now it is up and will not go down. Depressing switch as I have for years. The "click" that used to occur after 5 seconds never happens. Jumpered Pin 1 to pin 16...I have no flashing codes.
The top is locked on as well. With key in the on position (engine not running) and moving the switch to the rear (release the top), the switch flashes but nothing happens. When shorting pin 1 to pin ten for 6-8 seconds on multiple occasions, the switch indicator comes on solid for 5 secs then goes off.
In reading multiple posts I am trying to determine if there is a reset process for the car. These posts tend to get multiple model years and vintages...so hopeful that we can get some advice specific to this model...
Thanks in advance!
