fuel leak

My 95 SL320 has developed a fuel leak that appears to be coming from an area directly beneath the passenger seat. I'm assuming it's coming from a fitting or flex line and the leak stops once the engine is shut off. Any ideas before I put this thing up in the air? Thanks in advance.

In a prior 500 and current 600 the fuel line is on the passenger side, but I don't remember any junction, only the solid tube.
I of course would look to the fuel tank end first to see if it running down the line.
I have assumed you noted this puddle with the car at rest.
In the past several vehicles have had a gas odor and those issues can from the engine compartment. The smell was getting into the cabin while traveling. In two cases it was the fuel distribution piping has small splits, with 2 other vehicles it was the junction with a forward fuel filter.
Sorry never had any experience with the 6 cylinder motor in an R 129. Good luck sorting out the leak!

Thanks, SRHsl600. I was hoping to get this thing up on the jackstands today but it just didn't work out. I looked at a couple of schematics and, indeed, their appears to be a filter canister of sorts in the general area where the leak is. Now I just need the time to get a better look. By the way, the leak only appears when the engine is running, so the high pressure pump seems to be the origin. Thanks, again
