I just bought my late grandfather’s SL500 and the radio will not turn on. Even with the car off, the display always shows CODE EJ. I have the radio card with the 5 digit code, but when I enter the code in, nothing changes. I’ve tried following the code with just about every other button, but no luck. Any ideas out there?

Call Mercedes Customer Care and once you prove ownership, they'll give you a new code over the phone.

Thank you @rustybear3 . I have the code and had entered it multiple times before creating this post. That wasn't the issue as it essentially was frozen in this CODE EJ mode.

I resolved this though. I cut the power to it by pulling the fuse, re-powered it up and then it went into the typical "Code" mode with the flashing C. I was then able to enter in my 5 digit code and unlock the radio.
