A couple of years ago, I bought a White, 91, 500SL (vin:WDBFA66E3MF014926) to use as a parts car while working on my Red 91. I've come to the point where I've used most of the parts that I want and am going to sell some of the others. I want to accurately describe the interior color (which is, obviously blue) and would like to find out the correct name. I went to the dealer and was told that it was "leder schwartz" which translate to black leather. So much for the guy in the Parts Dept. who went and got his manager to help him get it wrong! Anybody know how to translate this vin or if what color blue(s) were available in 1991? Thanks a bundle and have a fine day!!!
That's exactly why I posted the picture! As you can see that interior is definitely not anthracite nor is it black. It's not even real dark blue. The entire interior is that way including carpet side panels and everything. It appears to be a bona fide mystery. But thank you for your efforts :-)!
Thanks for the responses. I've removed the bottom cushions and, of course, no tags. The visors, console and the rest of the interior match the seats. That makes a switch out very unlikely. I'll keep searching for something with a part number on it and let "Y'all" know what I find! 😎 Have a fine Monday!
