Suspension issue

I have a 1999 SL 600 with the hydraulic suspension and the front wheels are rubbing because the car is lower than expected the Europe when you turn the wheel right to left and when you go over a major bump I get a suspension light when I turn off the car and then turn it back on. The car is stiff very stiff when he had a bump the steering wheel shakes. What could that be and how do you find out the codes on these cars for suspension.?

Sounds like it's time to change the nitrogen spheres (stiff ride) and check the height adjustment linkage (low ride).

I can change the spheres later but doesn’t the ads 2 cars rely on sensors rather than linkage for height. I am not familiar with what height adjustment linkage you are referring too.

Nope, there are 2 sensors for height.

Both sensors are actuated by a linkbar between the sensor and an arm on the front and rear sway bars.

Both linkages are on the American passenger side of the car. Find the sway bar, then find the ADS linkages.

Further apart in the front to raise, the opposite for the rear.

A little goes a long way for the front, but the rear requires a larger change.

Chances are, you will find the height adjustment linkage is in need of repair and not attached (broken) to either the sensor arm or the sway bar.

I adjusted them and they were lose both which caused the front to suffer. The rear and the front. I have it adjusted based of stock pictures it worked. Would you or anybody know the oem setting for the linkage? Like a picture of the oem setting for Front and rear linkage?

Like art, it's subjective.

At rest, I prefer the gap between the tire and the wheelhouse to be the same as the sidewall of the tire.

Something like this.
