SL/R230: Removing stereo on 05 SL

Removing stereo on 05 SL
Any one know how to remove the stereo for the 05's.
I know how for the 03-04's but the unit changed in 05.

Dealer removed it
Took the car to the dealer to have the stereo removed. The tech said it is a pain in the but. No one knew how to do it. and there were no instructions on how to do it on the 05's 03 and 04 yes but no 05's.
They had to cut the case out where 2 notches were holding it in. below are the photos.
After they took it out he said that there was now way to remove the deck with out that cut out. they made it that would be really hard to steal.

I guess I should be glad that I have an 04'... mine was easier to remove for the video upgrade... good luck putting yours back in... why did you take it out anyway? Were you getting a video capability put in too?

For $1500, some guy in FL can do the video upgrade for the 04' COMMAND head unit. However, you will need to put in a DVD player somewhere in your car to play video. The total cost with labor... around $2800... ouch! Still getting it done. Maybe I'll have pictures in a couple weeks... I miss my car! It's been in the shop for 3 weeks.
