SL500 2002 MODEL
Water in the boot and passager foot well

Hi Guys anyone help with this one,got a SL500 2002 model and last week all my electrics went funny and found water in the boot this was fixed at great cost , now find water dripping inside the car coming from vent under bonnet it is blocked and filled with water and getting sucked in by heater motor.

The thing is I am not happy about this in a car that cost so much to buy and now out of warrenty is this a common thing or has there been a recall to do a mod , I feel I cant be the only person this has happen to and feel Mercedes should foot the cost or some of it pls help guys

Cheers

There is about 20 different up grades for trunk/roof seals (at least in the USA) make sure your dealer is putting on the new seals and is installing them correctly. position and amount of silicon adheasive is critical.

Surprised you haven't had any answers as there have been quite a few threads about water in the boot. So much so, that I regularly inspect for water. Good luck!

Yes I think Mercedes should pay for it, because it is very common problem, and dont let them tell you otherwise. If it is common in sunny SoCal, I can only imagine how bad it is in rainy climate's. MB know how to fix it, and they know it is there fault !!
