Super Charger for SL 500 information
Hey guys ,
I recently bought a Sl 500 2003 but all Lorinser F01 kit (metallic blue -designo biege interior)... However i was wondering if i can put in a super charger without any modifications to the transmission or engine...I mean how much power can i extract fom the SC without any modifications, and where can i buy any decent Super Charger from even if its used but in good quality????????....

As fussy as these cars are with engine electronics, I would never venture on such an expidition. I would save my time, money and agravation and just pick up a used SL55. I've put superchargers on other cars and it's generally not just a bolt and forget operation. Good luck on you venture should you decide to proceed.

Both Renntech (http://www.renntechmercedes.com/R230_SL.html) and Kleemann (http://www.kleemann.dk/site/Main/per...cts/kompressor) make superchargers for the naturally aspirated SLs.
I saw the Kleemann version today on a CLK500 but didn't have the chance to talk to the owner so no first hand data on how s/he liked it.

Avoid HPS. I strongly suggest that you get your parts through someone reputable and find a good installer.

It's not the simplest of operations, so it all depends on who you get to install it. Ask around for the best guy in your area to get it done. A botched job can leave you with a bad taste.
