Front Turn Signal Error and it's not the bulb?
Anyone else have a problem with their front turn signals?
I figured it was the bulb, replaced it, but no luck. Even took the other side's bulb and holder and no go. |

If you can take a close look at the tail light assembly there could be a burned out section on the metal strip which is pretty common on most Euro Cars. They have done a few recalls on this on other Mercedes but not sure if they have on the SL's. If it looks fine than look at the fuses. Worst case scenerio its electical and thats a b*tch so have a professional look into it. Hope this helps. |
I had the same issue with my 2003 SL500 turn signal indicator. I also changed the bulb but no luck.
Took it to the dealer and I was hosed big time. About $3,000. The housing that held the bulb in cracked so it would not make electrical contact. My dealer negotiated with MBUSA and somewhat cut me a break to reduce the $3K. In order to replace the bulb housing, they had to remove the bumber and replace the whole light fixture. I will no longer keep a car out of warranty. My .02 |
