Had a chance to take some pictures today. For some reason, none of the pictures truly depict what the color looks like in person.... but here ya go...

wow, that is an awesome color, in some lighting areas it looksl ike greyish and in others goldish! THAT IS AMAZING!
btw, were you operating the roof by the smartkey or were you just in the car and just stopped and got out.
Love the features of the SL!

You have to be close to the car for the key to open the roof. The unlocking works by radio and has a longer range than the opening of the roof which works by infra-red.
You also need to press the open button for several seconds to start the roof opening and keep it pressed until the roof is fully open. It's all to do with safety to prevent little Joe getting his arm torn off in your quest for top-down driving.
