i just want to say thank youuuuuuuuuuu for posting this. i just fix my r230 convertible by doing this. i havent been able operated in months. wow thank you again

Roll bar stays up

I’m sure you got the answer, but this happened to me today and I had to find out. My SL65, coming out of the toll booth on full throttle bounced a little and this caused the emergency roll bar to engage (roof was up)

Got home and read up on this. Press ‘roll bar up’ control to the count of 10 to reset. Then ‘roll bar down’ control will then work.

Hey - I just hit the gas a little hard in my SL 550, the road was wet, & I went sideways a bit - same thing - thanks to this thread I got the roll bar back down - LOL

I experienced the exact same with my 300SL (1991) while drving hit several potholes and wham, the roll bar went up. Your advice fixed the issue and I wanted to say thank you for posting the fix!
