planning to change to dustless brake pads???
Have anyone use Power Stop Ceramic Front Brake Pads No Dust & No Noise on there sl??? I just bought my 03 SL500 a month ago and i am sick of cleaning my rims all the time!!!

Can't say anything about that brand, but i put Akebono Pads with stock rotors on mine and it was the best decision i have ever made. Better braking performance and wheels always look clean.

I thought I heard someone say that ceramic pads are harder on your rotors and a bad idea, anyone run these for a long time? I am also sick of cleaning wheels, I only drive about 30 miles and my black wheels turn brown....

Power Stop is a reputable brand that has recently made headway into the market (like in the last 10-12 years or so). I had a friend who put some on his Nissan 350Z and liked them a lot. Some squeaking at low speeds but once warmed up a little, no noise at all. And no major dust as well!

Akebonos FTW. The first pic is my OEM Brembo brakes and the second is the Akebono pads. You could see a significant difference. This is after one week of driving.

when i got the car the guy just got the front brakes done. But the dust is pissin me off!!! I know it sound stupid but i rather do something else then to keep cleaning my rims! thanks for your input! got to order new pads

you notice any issues with extra rotor wear on those pads? I might have to get new front rotors anyway, and if I do I would like to get a less dusty set of pads

Not really, but I change rotors and pads like underwear. I am on my 3rd set of rotors in 2 years. Not because of wear, but because I keep changing my break setup.

Akebono pads and OEM rotors
I've only got 9k miles on the OEM pads and rotors on my '09 SL550 (with sport package / AMG wheels), but I'm so tired of brake dust that I want to change the pads now to Akebono Euro ceramics. Since the OEM rotors are still in good shape for wear also, is it OK to leave them on with the new pads, or is it necessary to turn / replace them?
