2004 replacement ABC pump
Well considering buying this Sl500 for low price but need some advice on abc pump. First what are these abc pumps on ebay? http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?rt=nc&Mo...=p3286.c0.m282
second, how much will this roughly cost?

The ABC system on these cars are very complicated and costly (struts alone are $1200 each). If you are buying a SL500 with problems already, you might want to steer clear unless you have a lot of money and getting a great great deal. My advice to spend a little more and get one that the ABC system is actually working, that way you know exactly what you are getting.
Just my 2 cents.

My ABC pump is gone. Is there any information out there to direct me to venders or aftermarket suppliers that can help reduce my replacement cost.
I know Arnott is a reputable place for replacing air suspension parts. I searched this forum and was not able to retrieve any information regarding ABC pumps.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

Let's be clear. SBC was a disaster for MB and the R230 is afflicted with it. It was used in just the R230, the E Class at the time, the Maybach and the McLaren Mercedes SLR and was then dropped.
The SBC pump is extremely expensive because you replace not just the pump but the whole pressure controller - it's like an ABS controller with more electronics. It's the metallic lump in the front left of the engine bay.
My pump failed. Here in the UK, it would have cost $5000 but MB paid because the car had been properly maintained even though it was out of warranty. There was talk here of MB replacing the control unit free of charge for 10 years. In a sense, I'm pleased mine failed because it meant I got one of the newer production.
Make no mistake. On this car, a failed SBC control unit is a big deal.
