Dead Tire Pressure Control Module (N88 TPM (RDK) Control Unit)...

Hi there folks,

Your Tire Pressure Monitor Control Module in the trunk (boot), on driver's side may be on its way out. Mine just died and threw up an error code in white that says "Display Defective Visit Workshop!". It only displays dashes (--) instead of pressure read out or numbers.

Initial diagnosis suggests the control module needs to be changed. The irony is that Mercedes knows this module is defective and has gone through 3 part numbers so far for the same module! The current Part number is A 002 820 99 26. Costs about $1000 brand new. I'm looking at other sources.

Same problem as you..

It seems that I have exactly the same blanks where the tire pressures should be..
We're you able to resolve this problem without paying $1000...
Pls advise..
Thanx
Bruce

New antennas and sensors needed as well?

Thanks for the info. The TPM control module of my 03 (MY2004) SL350 has gone bad last week hence I need to replace it.

The part number of the module taken out of my car is A0028208326 and the label on it says 433 MHz. I am not sure what does 433MHz mean. I guess it means this control unit is specific for antenna and sensors that communicate each other at 433MHz frequency.

I checked with EPC and indeed the antenna used for my car are using 433 MHz frequency as show in the attached picture.

On the other hand I Googled new part number A0028209926 and found out its label says 315MHz. So does that mean I also have to install 315MHz antenna as well as 315MHz sensors?

If so, do you have part number for 315MHz antenna? As for sensors I see that most aftermarket sensors are transmitting signals at 315MHz frequency which should be good… I suppose.

Display Defective, Visit Workshop

Looks like i got the dreaded Display Defective, Visit workshop too that has a B111C code complaining about the CAN communication to the N88 TPM module. I found the updated TPMS module 0028209926 online for cheap, but as previous post posted.... Do you need a new antenna? or can you use the existing? Do I need to get new wheel sensors since the new one is all on 315 mhz? I hope someone has already done this to save me some additional trial an error!!
