just saw an SL 500 today!!!
how is that possible???
i was on olympic this morning in my boring commute to work and right before i get to ave. of the stars i see this beige sl500 coming the other way....i almost hit the car in front of me cuz i was staring at the sl for so long....boy is that thing pretty....i'm really starting to think about getting me one of those but i was just wondering how it's possible that the sl500 could be on the road already....

remember when the old body style came out? How stunnig it was? It was very expensive for back then. Next thing you know EVERYBODY seemed to have one.
I wonder if the same will be true for these new SL. I think the CLK's are limited production while the SL's seem to be more of an open production. I am just guessing though

I saw it last week at the dealer asking price $117,000.
The car is beautiful but a little expensive. Also my dealer received a new 2002 CLK55 CAB Silver if anyone is interested. Last one they are getting and the are selling it at list price.

Just saw new SL 500
A local dealer here in Miami received their fist shipment of 10 just two weeks ago !! When I went to inquire on the status of my CLK, I saw them being off loaded off the truck. They were pretty sweet. He said the first 50 they get will be the Designo color (some sort of green) pretty though !! They were going for $95K

2002 CLK 55 AMG Coupe ;)
SL55AMG:
Sat in a lt. green metallic SL500 at a dealer's showroom. The SL's were being distributed here early March. Beautiful car. Still, not enough legroom for my 6'2" frame; similar problem with my 2001 SL500. CLK is perfect for me.
Re New SL Supply? Plenty!!!
Instead of 2,000 for the US marked, I was told that there will be 9 to 10,000 annually.
Some dealers are getting many SLs over their allocation. So the quick profit mark-ups, because of short supply, probably will be short-lived.
Tis the same for me up in the West Palm Beach area... Gulf Stream Motors' SL500 list is almost 3 years long!!

I was at Autohaus in Pompano Beach FL last evening and they had 5 special launch cars in a special launch silver or so it says as it's more like a pea soup green metalic. They also had a black on charc with the amg package a brilliant silver with charc no sport package. The 18" rims on the launch car were awesome!! looked much nicer than the amg thin spokes. The car looks great top up or down and with top up and all four windows down looks fabulous... kind of like a CL thats been on a diet. Cars were 10K over sticker during the first day of arrival now they are 22k over with the addendum sticker using lojack and a plastic protection film as a way to go over sticker! The film by the way caused a yellowish hue under the high intensity lighting.

Autohaus Pompano has a special SL debut/promo w/demos & refreshments next week from Tues.-Thurs.
They have been getting the SLs since the first of March.
Watch out, the flood gates are open, - not 2,000 but 10,000 SLs per year for the USA!!

I think that the prices have not been set. However, it would be MSRP/sticker price at time of delivery.
When est. delivery? Suggest that you check with your salesperson...perhaps next week during the the Autohaus SL celebration days?

they are quite popular on the streets on NY
I have seen quite a few over the last month or so. They look very nice up close. I recently received an invitation for a test drive on one during the first week of April. Im sure many of you have also received similiar offers from your respective dealers. Seems like MB is really trying to market this thing. I even see commercials for it. Yikes.. Must be tough out there. Will take pics and post as soon as I get them.
