Doors keep locking automatically?
Hi, lately I've noticed that the driver and passenger doors (well actually all the locks) keep automatically locking a minute or so after using the remote keyfob unlock. It is pretty annoying as I have to keep unlocking the car as I load up the trunk or interior unless I leave the door open.
I only notice this behavior before the car has been started up that day - once the car has been started the locks operate as I would expect and remain unlocked if I do not lock them after leaving the vehicle / close the doors / etc.
Is this normal operation to prevent or overcome accidental unlocking / alarm deactivating (e.g unlock button getting bumped in house or pocket so car relocks itself if no activity) or something? I don't remember noticing this before, but I have been using the car more frequently and differently than before the past couple weeks. I thumbed through the manual quick but didn't see this mentioned.
Car is an '03 SL55 btw
Thanks!

On my '03 SL500 and other MBs, the doors will lock after 30 - 60 seconds unless a door or trunk is opened. I believe this is intentional as an anti-theft/security measure which assumes that there would be no reason to unlock the car unless it was intended to be entered.

Thanks for the reply! Glad to hear its normal. My SL actually does this while the trunk is open, as I am wiping the car down with quick detailer before I leave ( I had always just hopped in and left before) - so knowing it isn't broken i will just learn to live with it . Thanks again

Mine started doing this randomly last year. It was very annoying. I believe it may have been the battery failing in my remote was starting to go bad. Changed battery and it has not done it since.
