Need Help. Trunk won't open
 

Just replaced both batteries and thought all was good, except for the "dreaded red battery light" is still on. Now my trunk won't open using the key fob or the driver side door button, have to use the skeleton key.

Any advice?

If the vacuum system is good for the other locks it may be in the soft close mechanism assembly. I believe there is a thread in the forum about a part called the "turtle". It is part of the assembly. It looks like a flattened ball, as I best remember, when I repaired my soft close puller. I have not repaired this unlock feature as mine is fine. If I can find the link to the turtle I'll get the link posted. You may look into the recent posts on the battery icon to fix that headache. Maybe it is just a fuse.
