Just picked up an SL550, Top won't go down

Good Afternoon yall!

Just joined the MB club for the first time ever, with a 07 SL550. Not new to cars, but new to MB. Did the VW/Audi/Porsche thing for many years.

Anyway, seem to have scored a decent deal on the SL. Really loving the car, however upon taking it home from the dealer I noticed the power roof doesn't work... I know, stupid me should of checked, and the dealer already told me they would honor/fix it, but im stubborn and just picked it up yesterday, appointment isn't til next week and I wanted to put my damn top down this weekend!

Anyway, I noticed on the dash im getting a 'trunk lid' icon whenever I go to press back the roof. The rear deflector comes up and down via the switches, however when I press back for the roof the trunk icon starts to blink on the dash/display. I've done some research online and a couple different posts. I've noticed that one of the flaps in the trunk is hanging down, which seems to be a pretty easy fix, however I don't think that's whats causing the icon on the dash to constantly pop.

I've seen suggestions starting from a trunk limit switch? I've checked the rear cargo slider to make sure it was pulled all the way down, just trying to figure out the possibilities of what this is.

Any and all advice is appreciated! Scored this 07 with 40k original, pretty happy with it thus far.

OH- and navigation DVD, best way to source that?

It won't work if the flap is down.

Thank you! I saw that online and have already contacted my dealer to get that replaced, fairly inexpensive so it seems.

However, from everything I've read that flap isn't what sets off the trunk indicator. Any insight on that?

Is the trunk soft close working? If not, although you think the trunk is fully closed, it may not be. If this is the case, you have to close the trunk quite firm.

On my 3rd coupe!
Trunk [soft close] actuator is not pulling the trunk all the way closed and will probably need replacing. Good luck.

Simple question but as a new owner do you know / did you put the roof protector in place in the boot?
The roof will not open if thats not fully clicked in on both sides.

Good luck and congrats on a great car!

NO LONGER ACTIVE
If the trunk lid is not fully closed, then you should get a message about that when driving and also the LED indicator on the remote release button would be illuminated. I suspect this is due to the flap, but below are the possible messages you will see on the MFD when opening/closing the top. These are from the owner's manual. If you don't have the manual, you can download a PDF copy from the "Owner's" section of mbusa.com:
