the back of the SL55 is a bit different:
but from the sides and front it looks the same, most people here order other wheels for their SL55´s, 19" instead of 18"

My Car's on the way....
This is what I ordered:-
2003 SL500 engine + AMG styling ((Wheels + Body)) meaning the car will look like an SL55!
Q is ... some people tell me that I can't have the body of an AMG since it's an SL500 and not a SL55. I ordered 500 for 1 reason, which is very important to me! The dealers didn't recomend me buying the 55 since I wanted an ASH on my steering wheel! I can't have it done on the SL55, cuz of safety reasons!
Plz tell me what you know about all this plz!
I know I'm getting the car the way I want it, but is it true about the SL55 safety reasons about the steering wheel's ash trim, cuz of the touch tronic buttons???

Crackhead/Luva-come on, just stop posting useless threads. Do you expect anyone to actually believe that you decided to order a 500 instead of a 55 because you wanted a trim on your steering wheel that isn't offerred on the 55. They are completely different cars with different price points and availability and the decision to buy one isn't based on whether you can get a trim color. Quit wasting space.

For your information, I'm a Female. Which means, I have sensitive hands! In other words, leather burns my hands when I turn the steering wheel! Meaning the ASH TRIM is a MUST!!! That's why I can't order the SL55 if it CAN-NOT be made with ANY TRIM on the steering wheel!!!
If you think I'm a %^&*&^%$%^&*... what would you call me if I told you that I sold my (( CL600 )) for a SL500 ......... YAAAAAAAA GO AHEAD INSULT ME! After all I'm a Women!!!

I agree, we are here to talk about the New SL and provide constructive comments and criticisms.
The posts by Pot Head and Luva are completely useless and detract from any of the real discussions that occur on this board. Surely you are intelligent enough to realize that (among the many other moronic things they have posted) no one who is a serious Mercedes Benz SL owner or potential owner and has anything positive to contribute would make a decision between a SL500 and an SL55 based on whether their hands are sensitive to a leather steering wheel. Obviously they (actually they are probably the same person) are either kids dreaming about an SL and just writing for fun or something to do while on summer vacation, or they are adults that are daydreaming about owning an SL or other "nice" car. Either way, they are no better than the BMW (Or Toyota, etc.) people that come over and bash Mercedes because their comments do not further the purpose of this discussion group. The hope is that the level of this board will remain above teenagers bragging over the best ride and insulting each others mothers and making stupid statements, which is all that they have to contribute.

The SL55 looks beautiful from the outside, that's why I ordered the AMG Package.
For a female, I don't think I need that SL55 engine, cuz I don't drive like you boys :p
