steering column doesnt move sl 55 amg

no noise no movement fuses are ok is there a way to possibly reset it

Is anything else not working, like the cigarette lighter, heated seats, etc? If so, it could be a bad left SAM, a bad EIS, or a weak consumer battery. Mine does this when its very very cold - no steering column adjustment, no heated/cooled seats and no cigarette lighter. I haven't had time tot chase down the culprit, but I know my consumer battery is weak - 11.7v at rest, and my hardwired Escort radar detector shuts down with "low voltage" during cranking.

I think your on to something. my car has sat for a long time with only starting it once a week probably low battery thanks

should i be trickle charging the front battery or the rear

I would trickle charge the rear battery and see how it goes. Maybe that will solve your problem. There have been numerous posts on a bad ignition switch giving screwy kinds of problems or display messages that are hard to figure. I think I'll lean that way. Keep us posted.
