How do you remove the mirror on my 2003SL 500

The entire mirror housing? It's held on with three bolts. One is behind the sail panel, the other two behind the crescent shaped panel on the door that meets the end of the dash. Both of those panels are just clipped in place and pull off.

The glass has a wire holding it on the top, you tilt the glass all the way down, lift the wire with a pick or small screw driver, then pull the glass out.

If you just need to remove the glass, ItalianJoe is correct about the wire clip, but not for all model years. Some, I think My2004, does not used the wire clip and instead, the glass just snaps in place, held by plastic clips behind it. So, if you can see the wire clip running along the top back edge of the glass, it might just be snapped in place. My understanding is that it is common that the plastic clips break when the glass is removed, so only do that if you intend to replace it.
