why are there wires connected to the lower chrome sill plate

tks for responding. no, just basic chrome. when i removed the sill plates, there's a somewhat thick wire that runs the length. haven thought about it, it is likely part of the elecrical system. just an easy way to hide it

That's just where the wiring harness for the car are run between the front and rear.
