Oil under car

hey guys, I notice from time to time there a few stains on my driveway circle drops and it’s always under the under cover engine cover where those dual vents are in the middle front part of the car

today I started the car after 2 weeks and drove away and there was a larger stain..wondering if this is just residual engine oil or what...I touched it and it looks like oil, def not water.

i have zero symptoms otherwise, I tried to search and can’t find anything..

Im assuming some type of oil leak don’t think it’s abc since there are no lines in that area..but who knows -.-

You'll have to drop the belly covers to confirm but three of the usual suspects are valve cover gaskets, rear main seal and trans adapter plug a known issue for the 722.6 trans.

I did have to replace the oil filter adapter/cover on my W220 which was leaking at the o-ring seal at the top which seals the assembly to the housing. I changed o-ring #131 to no avail and finally cured the leak by changing out the filter adapter.#125
Good luck,
Bob

(Strangely, just went out to start my W212 and it started to leak oil profusely, tuirns out the oil filter cap ***'y split. Oil is everywhere!)

My culprit over the summer was the PCV valve.

When changing the PCV if that's the issue, it also makes sense to replace the 3 caps at the back of the engine if they haven't been replaced in the past several years .These are second potential culprit.

Both are relatively easy fixes and are known oil leak issues in the MB engines .
