Adding a satellite Radio
 

I have purchased a 2005 R230 SL 500. I love the car but it does not have the Satellite radio option.

I would like to add a radio but do not know if that is possible

I have tried to research past posts but cannot find an answer

Is it pre-wired for sat radio? If so, you can add. If not, you will need an FM modulator or new aftermarket head unit.

Thanks for the reply. How do I determine if it is pre-wired?

Will be a plug in the lower left corner that would go into the back of the sat receiver. You can also have the dealership run your vin to see if it is pre-wired.

I am pretty sure all MY2005 R230s came "SDAR" ready. There was an upgrade kit for dealer installation.

Upgrade kit doesn't exist anymore. You will have to piecemeal everything.
