There are numerous possible causes for the SRS light to be on. A diagnostic scan will tell the tale.
If you are going to maintain this car yourself, then you need to invest $300 in a Chinese-cloned Star Diagnosis System (SDS). Anything else is analogous to taking a slide rule to an engineering college exam in lieu of a calculator.

Someone on the "other" forum just took delivery of this and reports that the quality looks good, but they did not purchase the needed hard drive with the pre-loaded software. I would contact that seller and see if they will sell you a kit which includes a solid-state drive with the software setup for a Dell D630 laptop. If they can, then you'd get the Dell from eBay for about $50.

BUT...my wife was a programmer and did all the household computer "things."
and since I lost her I'm doing good to work a flip phone..
While I have done my own maintenance on my vehicles for 60 years,.(sans computer assist)
I have no idea what a DDS, SRS, HHD or a hand full of cables mean.
Is there a place to get everything assembled to just plug in for added $$$
or need I just go to my stealer in cases like this ?

That could be plug-and-play.
I'm of the view that it is very simple to put together a system based upon a used Dell D630 laptop from eBay. If someone finds the task too daunting, then perhaps they will similarly find their new software diagnostic tool overwhelming and too daunting to use and troubleshoot their car. So it is a litmus test of sorts.
You simply by the multiplexer box, cables, and hard drive with pre-loaded software from the Chinese. You buy your Dell from an American eBay source. Once the two arrive, plug the hard drive into the Dell, power it on, and use the included utility programs to activate the software just as you would activate a Microsoft Windows product.

srs cleared
well,......the dealer cleared the SRS warning
The code said an over voltage condition between ignition squib and SRS control
but........checking voltage, the results were in tolerances.........so ???
The light is out for now............but I had a thought.......
Just before it had come up, I was starting the car and buckeling my seat belt at the same time.........possible ??

I had the SRS light come on my SL550 years ago. I called roadside assistance and was instructed to have the car towed to the dealer. At the time it would have been an 80 mile tow. The problem on my 2008 R230 was a loose connection at the rear edge of the passenger seat. To this day the connector is prone to pulling apart when the passenger seat is moved all the way forward with the controls at the top of the seat. Hope this info helps someone on the forum.
