SL/R230: R230 SL55 longitudinal acceleration sensor

R230 SL55 longitudinal acceleration sensor
Hi all,
I’m getting the dreaded ABC warning light in red coming up on my SL55 R230. After checking fault codes I’m getting c1124 fault in B24/14 longitudinal acceleration sensor. I’ve spent hours online trying to find information but not had much luck. I’ve had a look on WIS but it only gives an approximate location (around right side drivers seat uk) I don’t know if you have to take out the seat to find it or is it just behind some trim? So anyone with any idea of how to access it would be a great help. Also any idea of approximate replacement cost I would do the work myself.

Mercedes' Starfinder application will show you a picture of the sensor so that you can determine its precise location. It can be had as a small download here. You will also get a complete set of wiring diagrams with the download.
Note: The existence of the code you found suggests that the sensor is bad, but this needn't be the case. You could have a poor electrical connection either at the sensor or the ABC controller.

Hi DavidCA if you could send WIS instructions that would be great. I took the car apart today in the area shown above found a sensor got it out, stupidly ordered a new one through Mercedes main dealer only to find when I plugged obdii in it turned out to be the wrong sensor it was B24/12 not B24/14 (special order so no refund!) after pulling back the carpet on both sides of the car l still can’t find it 😩. Mine is right hand drive so I thought things might be reversed but no. so any help would be great.
