I have signals , reverse lights, park lights but no brake lights including third brake light . Checked all fuse 24,33-36 replaced brakelight switch. I have power at taillight plugs for the signal ,reverse and park but nothing for brake. I recently replace sbc with used one which I am lead to belive Is wrong part number because my abs light is on and Eps not working, won't let initialize Eps. And abs light stays on . Am I correct to say that when I press brake the brake switch sends signal to sbc that sends signal to rear sam that sends signal to tail lights? So if this is correct and I have wrong part number module would the sbc not send signal to rear sam so there for I have no brake lights ?
Wondering if anyone has the brake light schematic forc2003 sl500 r230 production date 07/03 can't find anything on Mitchell on demand and have no power at the plugs at tail lights other then park ,signal, and reverse. Nothing for brake light , new switch and fuses all checked . Any help with schematic greatly appreciated so I can check wiring from switch out . Thanks
Left brake light wire is black/red running from pin 17, connector 4 on the rear SAM. Right is black/pink wire running from pin 18. The brake signal wire to the rear SAM comes from the SBC. They apparently didn't trust the CAN for this, it is a dedicated black/green wire from pin 22 of the SBC to Pin 4, connector 3 on the rear SAM. This wire must be > 5V (should be 12V) when brake pedal is depressed.
Thanks Mike gives me something to work with, do you happen to know the colour of wire and pin location in sbc connector for stop lamp switch. I will check these wires asap .
