That cars next stop is a buy here pay here lot where it will get bought by some sucker with a 400 credit score that has no idea what they are getting themselves into…next stop after that is the junk yard where it belongs.
Theres been a lot of junk passing through BAT lately, but this one was pretty nice and the price was fair.

engine mounts
Upper and lower turbo coolant and oil line gaskets and o-rings
Rebuild diverter valves
Engine bay ABC line
Radiator
fuel injectors
valve cover gaskets
cam position sensors
crank position sensor
Cap at rear of intake manifold
every vacuum hose, boost control module, diverter valve control module
intercooler circuit hard lines and hoses
intercooler pump
ignition control module
And that’s just the engine.
The conductor plate and connector are areas of concern on the transmission
I guarantee you there are various ABC lines that are sweating fluid and need to be replaced. Accumulators and pulsation damper need to be replaced, valve blocks are not functioning properly (seller states suspension sags)
Rear window seal is trashed and the discolored foam over the roof/pse pumps would lead me to believe water is leaking in.
I bet the door lock actuators have leaking diaphragms and the trunk lock actuator has various air leaks as well.
the seat bladders are probably leaking.
lastly, the roof cylinders all need to be checked, some are probably leaking since he only replaced one of them.
So yea, you could invest $15-20k into that car and it would at least be reliable and enjoyable to drive.
It would still have 125k miles, crappy paint and a worn out nasty interior lol.

Also, the mileage history looks like that car was a daily driver in Pennsylvania for about 7 years, so probably exposed to plenty of road salt.
I'd say let that one continue its now short journey to the bone yard, keep an eye out for a car that at least hasn't been in a salt bath for 7+ years.
The M275 is extremely addictive, so be careful..... if it's in decent running order when you take a test drive you're likely going to have a hard time walking away.
So far I'm all DIY on mine - it can be a bit challenging, it takes some patience. The M275 is a BIG engine, it's tight in the R230 engine compartment, so a lot of times there's a lot of stuff in the way of what you need to get to. There's hardly a cubic inch wasted under the hood. Simple stuff that would take a Saturday morning on a Chevy might take a couple of weekends on a V12 R230. There's a lot of "I need to get to this thing, so let's see... I'll have to take off..... damn near EVERYTHING".
The most difficult thing that I’ve done so far was replacing the intercooler hard lines that run along the sides of the engine….super challenging to access some of the fasteners with the engine still in the car.
Removing the big brackets at the back of the engine are also a pain, I had to remove them when I pulled the intake manifold and again when I replaced the fuel injectors.

Turbo charged V-12 are a horse barn, but if I want reliability and less worries I will settle for a regular aspirated V-8.
I am in my late 60's and my racing days are over. At that time in my mind, my car, no matter how junkie my car was, was the fastest in its class. These days, I just cruise and enjoy the available power when passing another vehicle in a two lane road. 90% of the time cops are watching sports cars and do not let us to enjoy speed.
Summing up, the car must match your state of mind.!
My first car was a Renault R-8, 1965. 47 HP..! As I learned to drive well, wanted more power, I went to the extreme of finding an spare engine and over-bored the block to install larger wet liners and pistons. Also made a special manifold to hold a pair of double body weber carburetors. My "piece of crap" Renault was the fastest of all Renaults, and all that work, just to satisfy my ego...! That is just memories of an extinct racer..!
