SL/R230: SL350 R230?

SL350 R230?
Hello, I just joined the forums hoping to learn about the R230 as I'm considering the SL550. After reading some threads I see that there is an SL350 V6 which I've never heard of before. I am aware of the SLK350, but what is the SL350? Is that a Euro model?

2005 R 230 SL350 (M112 3.7). Sold the 1966 W113 230SL recently
Yes, it is a Euro spec R230 that was equipped with a 3.7 V6, superseded by a pepped 3.5 engine. The SL350 had ABC as an option and I decided for one with factory coils/torsion bars. Shipping one to the US sounds like an adventure, although the engines weren't exclusively SL. Don't know about type approval for offsprings that MBUSA never imported. The 3.7 L engine (M112) powered ML, S, SL and Viano (van) models.

Yes, no SL350s in the USA. Not that there's anything bad/wrong about them, but I can't imagine that anyone would go to the effort and expense to import one. The value of the car isn't worth the expense of import, and obtaining any V6 specific parts in the future would be difficult.
