Since the US is the largest market for SL's, the car should be here before summer.

You will not be able to order the car before March 2016 in any way shape or form... This is the month of the official release.
Since it's just a facelift with some electronic bits I don't expect a great PR spectacle.

Ohh I thought March 2016 delivery. Someone mentioned that here. I figured for that you should be able to start ordering in December. If it is March 2016 intro... that is a different story. It makes more sense this way. So it will be a 2017 rather than a 2016?

Yes, MY17. Still hoping for an early release and pre-July delivery.

The facelift SL will be introduced in 3weeks in LA (motor show) Nov.17.

New front facia, led headlights, different grill, different taillights and exhaust, updated command, and the usual updated distronic plus stuff.
Plus it seems that the 9G-tronic will be in the SL550

I just hope they will not put the iPad into the cockpit like they did it to the 2016 CLS. It was a beautiful cockpit and now... of course that is my personal taste only. I am sure some like it.

I agree, but if I look closely at the other pics in the link above, I don't really see evidence of an ipad-like screen, so it should be ok.

I hope you are right. That iPad would be a no go for me. It seems like everyone is doing it. BMW, Audi, Benz... Porsche is not. Yet.

You can't make it slide into the dash. Right? I mean push a button and make it go away? That would be acceptable.

I have seen the new taillight but it's all red. It's the euro version though. New led design so it will look better at night.

There is no metal change so a retrofit should be possible.

If this car's front will take a step toward the GT S' front. I think it will. It will be one of the best looking car on the road for a while.

It will be more similar to the GTS but will have its own look. The grill will have the same insert but the shape is reverse from what it is now. It will be wider at the bottom...

Here are the latest front/rear pics. Still quite a bit of camouflage but the grill design is evident (wider on the bottom than on top). Also the quad LED head light show here are the dual cameras.

There'll be a new rear bumper and exhaust tips and updated tail lights

This will be a nice improvement over the current SL as the front and rear of the cars will feel more cohesive from the design.

Can't wait for the Command and Histrionic to be updated. Hoping for the updated software that will be in the new E versus the one we have in the S-Class.

It's still unclear if the engine changes. There was talk a while back to get the smaller V8 from the AMG-GT. We'll see..
