Smart Top Module For Sale
I'm selling my smart top module that I just removed from my 2014 SL550. I'm returning the car as the lease is over. I'm my opinion, the smart top is a must have mod for this car.
The module is in perfect working order and is an easy self install if you possess basic mechanical skills. Installation manual is excellent.
Pictures are attached. I also have video of it in action that I can email upon request.
It's 439.00 new
Asking 275.00 shipped in the CONUS
Thanks

Related to this item. What is the maximum speed at with a NON-MODIFIED top can be raised or lowered on a 2017 SL? A seller is telling me 3 MPH but I have found multiple articles stating it is 25 MPH.

It is about 25mph. But you have to be at a standstill before you can start opening or closing. IIRC the ST will allow you to start opening or closing without having to come to a stop.

A 'must have'...Really???
In my opinion, saying the 'Smart Top' device is a 'must have' appears to be a gross overstatement!..
I seriously doubt the majority of 231 owners would use the Smart Top device that often anyway, so it's highly unlikely they would feel like they are 'missing out' by not having the little device on their 231 SL Class ....

Simple things which I cannot currently do like:
1) being able to open / close the roof without standing next to it or sitting in the car (i.e. from a distance)
2) one touch open / close using the lever in the car
3) start the open/close procedure for the roof without being at an absolute standstill

I have had a SmartTop on my 2013 SL550 since I got it two years ago, and I think it is about the best gadget since pop up toasters! My car is for sale now (CPO Warranty, extremely low mileage, loaded, great colors and wood... and SmartTop). I put lots of SmartTop clips in my 11-minute "for sale" video at
See the listing on Ebay at https://ebay.us/E6BIpU
For the SmartTop module for this car, the programmers also enabled the ECO Stop Start function to default to OFF. That is also worth the price of admission! If anyone has questions about daily use in our SL's, I would be happy to answer them. Note that SmartTop modules are made for dozens of convertibles, but each module has different programmable features, depending on what the programmers can figure out how to control.
