Corrosion - 2013 SL AMG Rim

I am sure this has been posted before, but just bought my 2013 SL550 and 3 of the 4 rims have this corrosion on the hub. Is this a known problem? Seems like a car of this caliber would not do this. Has anyone else experienced this and how did you fix it?

This is typical of an idiot trying to pry out the center cap and damaging the clear coat in the process. Water gets in-between and corrodes the aluminum.

In most larger cities, there are mobile services that will come to you and refinish the wheels while still on the car. My wife tends to "curb" the wheels on her car every now and then. The fellow I use charges $90.00 per wheel and the work he does is near perfection.

Interesting. Never saw that. Would love to see a before/after picture.

That said, any wheel refinisher can make these perfect again.

Painted wheels are easier To refinish than polished brushed or machines wheels
