Let's start an R231 Picture Thread!!!
The SL's are reasonably rare cars, when compared to most other MB's. In addition, they were built mostly with FUN in mind, rather than slogging through rush hour traffic getting to work. So, don't you think we should have an SL "gallery" for the R231's? Post what you like, but I think either a side or 3/4 view of the exterior and don't forget a good interior shot. Maybe a brief bio on your car and anything interesting about how you came to acquire it. This forum isn't all that active, so maybe this will spice it up a bit. So, come on guys, get you cameras out and let's have some fun!

Believe it or not, I am the third owner of this 2013 SL550, with still under 12K miles. I bought it CPO on eBay a few months ago, just as an impulse buy. I wanted a new one, but when Mars Red was dropped, I figured this was my next best choice. The previous owner put SL63 resonators on it which gives it nice "growl" on start up and a real ROAR under hard excelleration, but it's very quiet during regular driving. This my 7th SL and my first used car purchase since 1998. I love it, but may still go for a new one, as I really miss the ABC that was on my '04.

Purchased the car new in April 2016 coming from a 2014 CLS550 which was a great car. The SL has always been my dream car and since I retired 2 yrs ago, I figured you only live once and if you can afford it why not. Was looking for this color combo with all the options but there was none in So Cal except one coming in at another dealership and it was sold. Long story short..my dealer called the dealership and found out the customer backed out of the deal and my dealer did a swap. Car has a full front clear bra with Modesta coating. I enjoy cruising the beach cities in So Cal with the top down(the only way to go) and all the compliments I get on the car.

Of MOST all MB's produced, there are probably fewer SL's than MOST anything else. The reason there are more of them for sale in Star Magazine, is because the magazine is for enthusiasts and the SL is a car that tends to appeal to enthusiasts.
The S Coupe/CL, SL and G Wagons are the most rare MB's made non AMG/Maybach we are talking here. Being that there are more models of MB being made it is safe to say the SL while not a rare car at all overall when compared to outside the MB lineup but inside the MB lineup the SL is not sold like the C Class, CLA, E Class or even S Class sedan. Not many people are in the market for a $100,000+ 2 seat roadster....
