Well...after going back and forth on a brand new 2017 SL450 or a pre owned 2014 SL63 AMG. I decided to go with the SL450 for a few reasons.

• Its a brand new car - can't argue that this is a bonus
• Its a lease, with a ridiculously low payment given the discounts they are offering on them right now.
• I like to switch my cars every 12-18 months and doing a lease transfer (especially with a great low payment) is much easier than trying to sell a used $100k SL63).

I'm more of an SL63 kind of guy, but I think the 450 will be the right car, for right now!

The exterior is Obsidian Black and my favorite part is that it has the Designo X17 Interior. Which is the red/black exclusive nappa leather seats (same interior as the SL63). This option is $5500.00, not sure I would have ordered it for that much extra money over Bengal Red but this was the only remaining car I could get my hands on and I was after a red interior. As I said, the payment is phenomenal for this vehicle even with this expensive option, so why not!!!

The only thing I dislike very much is the wheels that were speced on this car...they are the 662 - 19" AMG 7-twin spoke light - alloy in high gloss black. They are beyond ugly in my opinion and you likely won't even see a picture of the car with them on it.


Pictures will come once it has arrived! It is expected to arrive sometime towards the end of June or Early July.


I have some small mods planned for it.

• Tinted windows
• 20" wheels (possibly 19" to be able to use the existing tires)
• Lowering Springs (H&R most likely)

Ha ha! No, what is the maximum speed limit on the open highways?

haha! On the highway, it is Maximum 100 km/h (approx. 60mph).

We have very strict laws against speeding, if you are caught doing 50km/h over the speed limit, it is an automatic roadside license suspension, the vehicle is taken away and impounded for 7 days or so and fines are up to $10,000 or even more, I am not sure.

I know what you're thinking, "damn, should have stuck with the SL450 and its peppy little 6 cylinder and saved fuel costs too" haha


but...that would be the "smart thing" to do and us car people don't generally do the "smart thing"
