Those wheels look like my stock SL63 wheels, were you able to order those when you ordered the car or did you buy them after? I am curious! They look great on the car!

thanks!
I bought the wheels separately. Those are actually stock wheels for the SL65 only but we're options on the 63. So you actually have upgraded wheels

Really? They're pretty standard on all SL63s I see around here and our local autotrader.

Perhaps it's standard with the Performance Pack (red calipers and all the CF goodies). I know that all SL63 from 2013-2016 with performance pack have these wheels or the black version of them. To be honest, I am actually looking forward to throwing my stock wheels on, I am running my 20" grey wheels and while I like them, the polished aluminum looks fantastic against my black paint.

Couple pics for fun!

Really like to 20" wheels as well! The AMG wheels just need spacers for proper offset.

Just grabbed a quick Ebay pic for showing the standard SL63 wheels. The PP didn't include the wheels but the upgrade price for the 19/20 forged wheels was only $2200 from the std. AMG wheels...

List price on these wheels alone is $10K

Interesting...I just checked my original build sheet and the wheels are not mentioned. I believe they are standard in the PP package here in Canada. The package was $10,000

If have seen Sl63's in the US with the performance package an the above wheels. Perhaps it was a Canadian option.
If memory serves, the performance package wasn't available for 2016 (or 15?) as the engine performance was increased by default to the same hp

The more I look at this color combo, the more I like it. The light really plays off the lines of the car with that 'silver' and enhances the looks of the vehicle. Love the wheels, interior and the exterior color. Well played Wolfman!

Thanks!
The facelift SL has softer, curvier lines and the lighter color definitely shows off those curves, folds and bulges (on the hood).

r

ABC is awesome. Street driving with my SL65 it is near impossible to get the car loose. Revise your order.

My order was taken on 8/7. Dealer has recently told me that my order is sitting in a pool of other orders and has not yet been given a production date by MB. Does this sound legitimate?

Dealer rep just called and told me that MB has finally given a production estimate. It is projected to begin the first week of November with completion in the following week. Rep stated that the order status is a "B1". Rep did not know what "B1" meant. Anyone know?

Wow, thanks Wolf! Based on the B1 code, she might arrive sooner than when my rep had guessed. Rep speculated mid-December. But, a lot of steps and processes to go. Thanks again!

Got my 2018 Diamond White/Saddle fully loaded ABC included (only option not ordered was B&O sound)..Took delivery Sept 1. Now 1,500 miles on it.

Love it even better than the 2015 Diamond White with Nut Brown (ABC as well) that I turned in with 30K trouble free miles.

Things I like better than the 2015: Lane Keeping, Curve Control, Overall Exterior restyle, USB options, improve HT operation, BIG improvement with 9 speed in MPG and operation,

I don't like that there is no "fader control" of the rear speakers and I have MB looking into seeing if a FW or SW update might fix it

the 2018 was Pre Ordered 6/15 and received @ the Dealer 8/29...(Mercedes Benz of Burlington Ma....BTW a "GREAT" overall dealership

I have copied and pasted page 23 from the MY18 DOG. It shows "Curve" mode as being standard and included in Dynamic Select (B59). I had thought that "Curve" only came with ABC. I am confused. Can anyone explain?

DYNAMIC SELECT (B59)
Standard on all models
Choice of five different drive modes as required – comfort-oriented, sporty, particularly sporty, efficient or completely individual
Adjustment of parameters such as engine, transmission, suspension, steering, climate control or ECO start/stop function
Default setting "Comfort": well-balanced and fuel-efficient
"Eco" mode: for keeping fuel consumption as low as possible adjustments to the accelerator pedal curve and shift points. Adjustment of the output of equipment items such as heated seats, heated rear window and air conditioning. Additional sailing function
"Sport" mode: more agility and dynamism with more direct steering characteristics, sporty, taut suspension tuning, spontaneous throttle response and modified shift points
"Sport+" mode: further enhanced sportiness, suspension and drive train even more dynamically tuned
"CURVE" mode: Curve tilting function and relaxed cruising - Eco transmission mode is cancelled at the
same time, the sailing function is active with the Comfort setting
"Individual" mode: individual parameters can be varied as required, using the DYNAMIC SELECT button and the configuration menu in the head unit

Take a look @ the MB site and call up the "build pages"

See the Dynamic Select tab and note it states "Curve" with ABC

Knowing how the Std vs ABC operates I would doubt the Curve could operate w/o the ABC sensor and hydraulic package.

Curve function is only available as part of ABC. Springs couldn’t do that since they have no way to adjust height.
While curve can be selected as dynamic select, that option simply will not show on SL’s with springs.

Please note that the curve function is not available in any sport mode. It is designed to be the most comfortable mode to drive.

Thanks, and I had read your referenced tab awhile ago but had forgotten about it. And, I had doubted Curve without hydraulics. MB should edit Dynamic Select in their DOG.

Thanks, that is what I had thought. MB needs to edit Dynamic Select in their DOG.

My SL450 was released by DOT, then Mercedes put a hold on it (them) for a Part, which I am told has to be remanufactured.

Car has been in Baltimore since the end of July -

As of now, no date for shipping to dealer !

Hope they put a set of Winter tires with it, when it arrives !

Mercedes Slogan - "The Best or NOTHING"

Right now - NOTHING !

P.S. Car was ordered in May, Built in June, arrived in Baltimore in late July -

Be sure to let us know what you find out about a fix in regards to a fader. I hope to have my first SL sometime in November!
