Road Atlanta AMG Compound

Here is a shot of one of the many AMG vehicles on display at the AMG compound at Road Atlanta yesterday for the Petit LeMans. Some really fine automobiles, but in my mind the AMG GTC was far and away the most appealing. OK, it's got a cloth drop top, but damn what a gorgeous vehicle. Best the AMG teams could do was 4th in GTD. Great racing!

Tall drivers

I have a question for anyone who has participated in the past in the AMG driving school. I imagine you have to wear a helmet in whatever car you drive. I am 6’4”, with a long torso. I daily drive an E63 wagon, and think that a helmet would be tight. I couldn’t conceive of wearing a helmet in an AMG GT. Are all the cars there the AMG GT? Has anyone had a similar experience in the past they can share of how they handled it?

Helmets are a requirement on any track; same with the AMG driving classes. I am 6' 3" and had no issues. GT is better in headroom due to the lower seating than other models but wearing a helmet is always tight. Cars used were SLC43, C43, SL63, AMG GTS, AMG GTR on track and E63s, C63s and CLA45 for special activities (braking, drift and slalom).
This years events have been cancelled so far but the SLC, SL and GTS models will be replaced with other models
