air pressure v.s. split wheels

I'm intro comfort. But, my 231 has 19" RF and no ABC. I have run 33psi trying for comfort. Then, my service adviser says I've got a RF wheel with 6 splits and also a flattened area. Car only used in town, by wife. My question is, should I be running higher pressure to mitigate future defects? If so, what pressure? Or, am I chasing a rabbit that has no merit, i.e., pressure has no effect on defects. Our subtropical heat causes frequent road way buckling. Some pot holes, yes. I also run 33psi in my 222 for predominately city use. No wheel defects so far in it.
And, I understand changing to 18" would help some but, it is a '13 model which I ordered new. Again, our climate precludes convertibles, we get maybe 28 days per year of cool weather for top down use. I bought the car for it's styling. Top has been down maybe 4 times. I'll look at the new SL but, I'm disinclined to go soft top, as I've lamented in prior post. I've even looked at the AMG GT coupe asking on their forum is the optional suspension choice would equate to ABC in an SL. The retort was yes but, don't expect a smooth ride. LOL.

I have run my 2017 , no ABC, with 19’s and Michelin Pilot Sports (Regular Tires) for over 2 years at 32 pounds with no problems here on the Texas Gulf Coast. Might be the run flats.....

If there is even a thought of an AMG GT, with your fondness of the retractable hard top and the desire for a better ride, I highly recommend that you send the 2013 down the road and look for a 2017 or later SL with ABC. It will be cheaper than the AMG GT and offer a wonderful ride, even if you stick with 19” wheels and run flats.

I am curious to see what PSI folks recommend to you but what does "a RF wheel with 6 splits and also a flattened area" mean? Is that 6 cracks in the rim, plus a bend in it?

I have the 19" staggered set on my 2013, and the gas cap and door plate call for 35 front; 38 rear for standard use; 36 front and up to 42 rear for extra load. Typically I run the recommended pressures, also run nitrogen. And the wheel issues with the AMG wheels, have been addressed in other threads so you may wish to search the site to gain other perspectives.

My RF tire has 3-4 cracks and a flattened area! I'd love to see a pic of your wheels, but I'm wheel shopping now for 18s that are not simply cast alloy like my OEMs.

I'd like an explanation of the differences between cast v.s. forged wheels. Is one stronger than the other? Also, how does one forge a wheel into a perfect circle within tolerances?
