I am contemplating placing an order for custom made luggage from CKS Performance for my SL550. Has anyone purchased this luggage and if you have can you provide me with an assessment of the luggage set.
I have the behind the seats suitcase and its pretty well made, holds more than you might expect, and is sized perfectly. Don’t have the trunk bags so can’t comment there.
I also have the behind the seat case and believe it is well made. If you are keeping the SL550 now would be the time to buy. With the 232 and it’s rear seats and soft top the current fitted luggage may not be produced indefinitely and much harder to find later on.
Thank you for your responses. I’m keeping the SL as I just purchased it at the end of July (2019 - 550). I previously had a 2007 CLK 550 and wanted to move to a 2 seater. Haven’t put many miles on the new car but hope to get a few road trips in next year.

Depending on your model, the very small bag may not fit. I'm my car (facelift) some of the space where the suitcase would have gone is taken by the fake exhaust Small bag does not fit. CKS are not very helpful concerning this and will not allow a discount or remove the bag from the set.
Thanks for letting me know. I placed the order 2 days ago and should receive the package this Monday. I'm anxious to see whether the entire set fits and will let the forum know the results, hopefully I can manage a few photos. I ordered directly from CKS Performance through their website but the same kit was also advertised on Amazon's USA and Canadian sites for considerably more:

Looks like a good option. The rear storage / champagne bottle holder in mine is raised above the level of the L&R rear shelf - so it would be taking a lot of weight of the bag.
I just checked mine and it’s flat across the width of the car, i.e., no hump in the middle. Because the keyboard case is flexible it may conform to the shape of your back shelf and distribute the weight fairly evenly.
That bag looks like the older R230 bag and the text mentioning the two straps leads me to believe that it is only for the R230. That car had more rear space and the two locking straps; something the R231 does not.
Used to have that bag and was useful. We ended up selling it for more than we paid for due to its rarity
The Roadsterbag luggage from CKS Performance, UK arrived by courier yesterday. I am impressed with the build quality, its lightweight and adequate capacity for two for short duration road trips. In response to a previously expressed concern with the fit of the small soft bag, it does not present a storage/fit obstacle for my SL as the space below the trunk floor is large enough to accommodate the soft bag. I have attached a few photos. small soft bag below trunk deck two flat bags stowed on trunk floor two large bags stowed on top of flat bags 5 bags stowed and secured Put to bed for the winter, I won't be going very far until May 2020.

Looks very good - do you had a tyrefit kit? My kit goes toward the front where that small bag is. If you get a chance could you provide the dimensions for the small bag please?

One could use the bag as a spare for other purposes. I personally would not let it keep me from getting the whole set as they look good and appear to fit the trunk quite nicely. If one travels a lot in their 231 I say “ go for it”!
Rorywquin, I don't have a tyre fit kit. Measurements for the small bag are: Width - 8", Length - 18", Depth - 7". You will notice in the photo where the complete luggage set is fitted into the trunk that there is still some space on either side of the luggage which may accommodate a tire fit kit.

Thanks for that. One of the European retailers has a 10% discount offer & free delivery and the British Pound is also stronger against the Euro (since the recent elections) so it may be time to order.....

There is a 5 piece set that fits the boot / trunk and and also 1 that fits properly behind the seats. (Euro1240 for the full 6 piece set).
I looked at some soft (holdall type) bags that are a lot cheaper and decided to pass on them. They looked cheap and nasty and my wife would not be happy with her clothes getting bunched up and creased in them.
